Spice Essential Oil Recipes

Ingredients

  • 7–8 medium sized apples

  • 1 tablespoon sugar or sweetener of choice

  • 6 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 100° C.

  2. Put baking paper onto two baking trays.

  3. Combine sugar and Cinnamon Bark essential oil in small bowl. Stir to combine.

  4. Slice apples into thin slices.

  5. Place apples onto baking paper covered baking trays in single layer.

  6. Sprinkle apple slices with Cinnamon Bark essential oil sugar mixture.

  7. Place baking trays in preheated oven for 45 minutes. Halfway through, flip apples over.

  8. When edges of apples are curled, take out of oven and place on wire rack until cooled and crispy.

These Cinnamon Apple Chips are sweet, crispy, and have a delicious hint of cinnamon, making them a perfect treat for the lunchbox. Enjoy alone or chop and add to your porridge, banana bread, or cookies.

Ingredients

1 cup canned pumpkin

½ cup non hydrogenated vegetable shortening

½ cup sugar

½ cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil

2 drops Ginger essential oil

1 drop Clove essential oil

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

¼ cup oat flour

2 tablespoons cornstarch

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

Optional: 1 cup pumpkin seeds

Instructions

  1. Reduce pumpkin by placing in a saucepan over medium heat for 30–45 minutes. Stir often until pumpkin has reduced to ½ cup. Set aside to cool.

  2. Cream together shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Mix in cooled pumpkin, vanilla, and oils.

  3. Sift remaining dry ingredients. Mix until combined.

  4. Preheat oven to 350° F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  5. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Place onto baking sheets. Flatten tops with a spoon. Arrange a few pumpkin seeds in the center as garnish.

  6. Bake 10–12 minutes. Let stand on cookie sheet for two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

Tip: Make your own oat flour by tossing oats in a food processor or blender.

1–2 tablespoons ginger, juiced
3 lemons, juiced
3–5 drops Lemon essential oil
1 cup water
⅓ cup raw honey
1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. Juice lemons and ginger. To juice ginger, add ginger pieces to a juicer or a blender. Blend or juice. Separate pulp from the juice with a cheesecloth.

  2. Combine all ingredients into a two-quart pitcher. Mix well.

  3. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve. Makes two quarts.

Ingredients
4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
2 cups shredded unsweetened coconut
1 ½ cups sliced almonds
2 tablespoons chia seeds
¼ cup flax seed meal
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup dried cherries
1 cup dried cranberries
½ cup honey
¼ cup maple syrup
½ cup coconut oil
10 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 325° F.

  2. In large glass bowl, combine oats, shredded coconut, sliced almonds, chia seeds, flax seed meal, and salt. Stir to combine.

  3. In small saucepan over medium heat, melt honey, maple syrup, and coconut oil together.

  4. Pour liquid mixture over oat mixture. Add essential oil. Stir until well combined.

  5. Pour mixture onto large metal pan and place in oven.

  6. Stir granola every ten minutes to help granola bake evenly.

  7. Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until granola is golden brown. Once done, remove from oven and let cool.

  8. Add dried cherries and cranberries. Store in airtight container.
